Hello everyone, I am Lina Herssi, I joined the group in 2023 as a master student and I am currently a second year PhD student in Frank’s team.
I was always interested in physiology, developmental biology and physiopathologies. I am originally from Auvergne, where I completed my DUT in Biological and Biochemical Analysis in Clermont-Ferrand. I then carried on with a third year of bachelor’s degree in cellular biology and physiology. Finally, I went on to graduate from Sorbonne Paris Nord University with a master’s degree in Experimental Therapies and Applications in Human Pathologies, summa cum laude.

I was already familiar with the Drosophila system as I had a 5 months internship in Clermont-Ferrand, in Krzysztof Jagla’s lab under the supervision of Teresa Jagla, and the project was entitled ‘Generation of Drosophila models of human genes variants of uncertain pathogenicity’.

I am now carrying my project under the dual supervision of Frank Schnorrer and Clara Sidor, and my project is entitled ‘Manipulating the mechanical integrity of titin to investigate its role in sarcomere assembly and maintenance‘.
