Hello everyone, I am Romain a PhD Student in the group. I am originally from Brittany, where I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s studies. I am keen about proteins and their roles in cells and in tissues ranging from their direct interactions and regulatory functions to how protein networks orchestrate the tissue development. I am fascinated by how these molecules that we consider lifeless assemble and manage to develop living cells and tissues.
I performed my master’s thesis in Dortmund in the Musacchio lab where I studied the assembly of a histone variant loading complex onto centromeres which is crucial for maintaining centromeric identity throughout mitosis.
I joined Frank’s lab on a project with a broader focus. I am currently investigating mechanosensitive pathways and specific transcription factors that may play a role in tension-regulated myofiber self-assembly in iPSCs-derived human skeletal muscle cells.
